Ludington State Park is known as the “Queen of Michigan State Parks.” Located on the eastern shores of Lake Michigan, it includes nearly 5,300 acres of scenic sand dunes and over five miles of beaches, ponds and forest land. The park is home to Hamlin Lake and one of Michigan’s oldest historical sites, Big Sable Point Lighthouse.
Though the park does offer winter recreational activities, it’s busiest in the summertime, when families come to enjoy weekend getaways on Lake Michigan.
